SBAC Student Wins ODOS Summer Camp 2025 Scholarship to Study in South Korea

On July 26, at the Bangkok Convention Centre, 22nd Floor, Centara Grand at CentralWorld, Ms. Phattharawadee Meethongsaen, a student of the SBAC English Program at Siam Business Administration Technological College (SBAC), attended the final interview round of the ODOS Summer Camp Selection Day and was successfully selected to participate in the program. She has been granted the opportunity to continue her studies in the Republic of Korea.

The event was presided over by H.E. Prasert Jantararuangtong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Economy and Society, together with H.E. Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, President & CEO of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa). They officially opened the ODOS Summer Camp Selection Day, which included program/country lottery draws and the final interviews. Dr. Warin Ratchananu Son, Acting Deputy President of depa and Project Director, gave the opening report highlighting the project’s significance.

The Outstanding Development Opportunity Scholarship (ODOS) is an extension of the former One District One Scholarship initiative, designed to broaden educational opportunities for Thai youth nationwide. The program aims to cultivate essential 21st-century skills, broaden global perspectives, and prepare young talent for future leadership. The ODOS Summer Camp offers 928 full scholarships for 5–6 week short courses both in Thailand and abroad, ensuring that students return with knowledge and experiences to contribute to Thailand’s sustainable development.

Namfah’s host institution is Sookmyung Women’s University, one of South Korea’s leading women’s universities located in the heart of Seoul. The university is renowned for International Studies, Information Technology, Foreign Languages, and Public Policy, with extensive international collaborations. Her study period is scheduled from October 15 to November 22, 2025, with departure on October 14, 2025.

  • Basic Digital Skills Test — Full score: 40/40

  • Intermediate Digital Skills Test — 39/40

  • Final Interview — Successfully passed with distinction

  • Country Placement (by lottery): Republic of Korea

This achievement reflects not only Namfah’s determination and commitment, but also the strong guidance and support from SBAC faculty — particularly the English Program, IT Department, and Academic Affairs Division. SBAC believes this success not only demonstrates the capability of Thai vocational students but also reinforces the institution’s role in driving education forward and connecting it to the global stage.
