From October 13 to 22, 2023, a group of SBAC students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in Kiwi culture and gain practical experience in the hospitality industry at the Pacific International Hotel Management School (PIHMS) in New Plymouth, New Zealand. During the trip, the group explored key aspects of the hospitality sector, including the role of reception staff, and participated in food and beverage training, gaining hands-on knowledge to enhance their skills in the industry. 

PIHMS, renowned for its world-class education in hotel management and hospitality services, provided the students with exposure to the latest trends and best practices in the field. The institution’s practical learning model, which integrates theory with hands-on experience in real-world settings, gave the students valuable insights into digital innovation in hospitality management and sustainable business practices. PIHMS is widely recognized for its focus on personal development, customer service, and leadership skills, ensuring students are well-prepared to thrive in the competitive hospitality industry. In addition to their academic activities, the students also had the chance to explore the beautiful city of New Plymouth, experience the local Kiwi culture, and witness the natural beauty of New Zealand, making the trip both educational and culturally enriching.
